Quickstart.

From zero to your first gated build in three steps.

1. Install the Agent Edition

Mac (Apple Silicon) or Linux. For the security scanners, your machine also needs a container runtime; without one, those checks cannot run and the build cannot pass (VibeHard Cloud is in closed testing). Free for personal use only; commercial use needs the commercial-use license, which comes with the Software Factory plan ($199/mo).

2. Connect your agent

Add the server to your agent’s MCP config, or let the installer register it:

Use the absolute path the installer prints (for example /Users/you/.local/bin/vibehard-agent on a Mac or /home/you/.local/bin/vibehard-agent on Linux); MCP clients do not expand ~. The installer writes this same entry, named vibehard-agent, when you agree at the prompt or pass --mcp-register.

3. Ask for something

Open your agent and tell it to use the VibeHard factory, for example:

“Use the VibeHard factory to build a command-line tool that totals the invoices in a CSV file.”

The factory asks about anything unclear, writes and reviews a plan, waits for your approval, then builds and verifies it. Walk through a complete, proven sample next: Your first build. VibeHard Cloud is in closed testing.

Install by operating system

Agents: run uname -s first (Darwin = macOS, Linux = Linux; on Windows, check whether you are inside WSL) and use the matching block.

macOS (Apple Silicon)

Then restart your desktop agent app and, if you use the command-line agent, run claude mcp list. If Apple’s developer-tools window appeared, let it finish before the first build.

Linux (x64 or arm64)

First, the admin step. Debian or Ubuntu:

Some desktop agent apps are not available on Linux; use a command-line agent such as Goose or Pi, or any agent that supports MCP over stdio.

Windows

Not supported natively. Use WSL: run wsl --install in PowerShell as Administrator, restart, open Ubuntu, follow the Linux steps above, and use a command-line agent inside Ubuntu.
